Tristan Lauzon (he/him) is a Montreal-based colorist at Cineground, one of the city’s leading post-production houses. Having honed his craft under the guidance of Senior Colorist Marc Boucrot, Tristan has developed an intuitive and creative approach to color, grounded in collaboration and a strong sensitivity to the moving image.
At the heart of his process is active listening—understanding a filmmaker’s vision, intentions, and taste, then translating them into a distinct and cohesive visual language. His work seeks to find the balance between aestheticism and emotion, shaping images that feel both intentional and deeply connected to the story.
Tristan places particular importance on fostering and supporting the 2SLGBTQI+ community, while creating an open, welcoming, and safe environment for the artists he collaborates with. He believes meaningful collaboration comes from giving people the space to express themselves freely, and strives to ensure that every filmmaker and creative partner feels heard, respected, and understood throughout the process.
With a particular focus on fiction filmmaking, Tristan is drawn to creating impactful, expressive looks refined through subtlety and precision. His approach considers each image not only for its visual qualities, but for the role it plays within the larger emotional and narrative world of the film.
